Help? What am I doing wrong!?

Trying to dry these flower petals to preserve. I saw to place paper towel below and on top of the flowers between 2 plates and microwave for 1 minute.

They just feel soft and mushy. They’re not fluffy like before or vibrant. I’m so sad. #help #dryingflowers #diy
