Where to travel in September (US Edition)

September is one of my favorite months of the year to travel. Kids are back in school, the temperatures are still pleasant without being ridiculously hot, and prices for flights and hotels start to drop.

If you’re traveling within the US this fall, here are a few of my favorite US destinations to visit in September.

Moab : This national park is the perfect September vacation spot for outdoor lovers. The temperatures are great, but you’ll see far fewer crowds than in the peak summer months.

New York : There is just something about the energy in NYC in September that I love. It feels like everyone is holding on to the last bits of summer, with lots of outdoor dining, picnics, and park hangs. It’s my favorite time of year to be in the city.

Adirondack Mountains, NY: New York is getting a lot of love on this list (I’m bias as a native New Yorker) but September is the perfect time to head north into the mountains for the start of leaf peeping season in the North East.
