super late Father’s Day

Last year I moved about an hour away from my family. One hour doesn’t seem very far but the drive is somewhat unrealistic when you want to grab a quick bite to eat or even just go over for a little visit. I told my dad that I was going to take him to breakfast for Father’s Day weeks ago… then I completely forgot. He mentioned it the other day and I felt sooooo bad. My work schedule is another factor that plays into the difficulty of visiting my family. I work on weekends and most of my family works during the week with weekends off so our schedules are completely conflicting. I asked my dad out to lunch yesterday and he said he would be able to leave work for a while to get lunch which was really nice. We were able to catch up on some things and even make upcoming plans. After lunch I decided to stop by my grandma’s house since I was in town and she was SO HAPPY to see me. Going to sleep with my heart extra full tonight ❤️🌖

p.s. for anyone wondering, he ordered a carnitas plate when Mexican rice and refried beans. I had a chipotle shrimp bowl with Mexican rice and black beans. 😋
