Hidden Gem: Malta 🇲🇹

Looking for a warm getaway that’s less well known than Greece or Italy? Check out Malta!

This small island is the perfect getaway to both explore and relax!

ACCOMODATION:

I stayed at Marco Polo Hostel and enjoy it! There was a rooftop patio which was a perfect place to meet other travellers for drinks or watch the sunset in the evening. 🌅 🍹

PLACES TO VISIT:

I definitely suggest dedicating one day to exploring Gozo and Comino which are the two smaller islands off of the main island of Malta. In Gozo explore the town of Victoria or venture out along the coastline to see some beautiful cliffs and beaches. Before heading back to Malta, spend a few hours at the Blue Lagoon in Comino enjoying the bright blue water and gorgeous scenery!

While on the main island, some cities worth visiting areValletta , Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua. If you visit in the middle of October you may get to witness Birgu Fest in Vittoriosa where the locals fill the streets with candles and shut off all their lights which was very beautiful!

TRANSPORTATION:

The country is quite small so you can easily get from one side to the other within 1-2 hours! The easiest way would be to rent a car, but it is also possible to get to most places by bus or ferry if you’re looking to save money (which is what I did).
