your sign to bring your intl friends around!

always excited to have my international friends visit singapore & be a mini tour guide and bring them around…thought it’d be a lil bit of a shame if they only visit the touristy sites so here are some of the other places and food i brought them to try:

1. bak gwa and pineapple tarts - they first landed during cny period so that was a perfect opportunity for me to introduce them to some of the chinese delicacies. their verdict: they LOVED the bakgwa, even bought some to bring back to their home countries 😂 they felt the pineapple tarts were unique and decent, but a lil dry to their liking.

2. hawkers - a must on the list. they loved the concept, they loved their hokkien mees, sweet & sour pork and the sambal stingray that clinched the top of their list.

3. hai di lao - this was something they wanted to try as well since hotpots aren’t a thing back in their country. they LOVED it, their favourite was the tomato soup & it was so cute bc they were super excited when we tried out all the HDL hacks and when the staffs came out w the birthday led lights (also they taught me how to sing the bday song in french 😂🥹). go for the lunch set so it’d be a lil cheaper!

4. bubble teas: their fav was playmade’s chrysanthemum milk tea - think chrysanthemum was a new taste for them & heng they like it. they didn’t q fancy chi cha though 😅 they thought the tea leaves were too strong & they weren’t used to that.

5. also j wanna point out that they enjoy their mamee noodles 😂

kopi, kaya toast, durian, laksa, prata, the list could go on and on. but i’d highly recommend you bring your international friends around too if you get the chance to. ngl it’s q exciting to watch them try out all the different SG food & it really does feel good and proud to see them enjoy it~
