Who says Mississippi can’t have nice beaches???

Ship Island is located off the coast of Gulfport .

Tickets for the ferry to island cost $44 for adults and $38 for children (kids 2 & under are free). The ferry ride is about 10 miles, about a hour trip. Keep your eyes peeled, we saw some dolphins!! If you look closely in the last pic you can see them jumping!!

Once we got to the island, I was amazed how clear the water got! The beaches in Gulfport are pretty dirty, so the clear water at the island was refreshing.

We saw so many stingrays too!

The walk to the main beach is on the south side of the island and is a short walk over the boardwalk. There is a small shop with concessions and a place to purchase boogey boards and umbrellas/chairs for day use.

I found so many beautiful shells and enjoyed the clear water so much!

If you are looking for a fun activity to do on your trip to Gulfport, Ship Island is a MUST!
