Healthy relationship is more than just sharing the same interests with your partner, in fact, it is actually a space where you can trust, love, and be around each other in the utmost comfort. But what really determines a healthy relationship? Over the years throughout the course of my relationships, I finally got the grasp of how it would feel like, and today, I will be sharing with you these 5 major signs of a healthy relationship!

1. Both of you are able to manage difficult conversations/situations.

Relationships are not always unicorns and rainbows, having two different persons in a relationship means there will always be some disagreement between you and your partner. But what matters is how you handle the situation. If you find yourself feeling at ease and you are not afraid of having a difficult conversation with your partner, that’s definitely a really GREAT sign. Staying true about yourself and letting yourself in front of your partner can be super challenging as it takes a LOT of courage and confidence to let your partner see you in the most vulnerable state, but if you are good at handling this with your partner. You are definitely on the right track.

2. You genuinely trust your partner.

In my opinion, this is something REALLY IMPORTANT that you should reflect on. These days, I understand social media, a world without boundaries, makes it easy for anyone to cheat on their partner. But in a healthy relationship, you never have to worry about that because there is always a sense of security and reliability coming from both of you. But apart from your partner giving you what they can offer, it is also important for you to always regulate your negative thoughts. I understand that we would feel insecure sometimes, it is normal and it’s valid. But it’s equally important to trust your partner, let them spread their wings and remember that both genders need a sense of trust and security too :)

3. Both of you are supportive of each other.

Controlling our partner and shaping them according to our needs and wants might sound easy for making us feel at ease. But we should always remember that they are humans too :) We don’t always share the same interest with our partner and that’s okay. What is important is that both of you support each other’s passion and really encourage each other to achieve your goals.

4. You can be yourself around your partner.

Another important sign of a healthy relationship is you are always comfortable to be your own true self with your partner. You feel comfortable to even show the ‘ugliest’ side of you to them without the feel of getting judged. You accept each other’s flaws to the extent that your partner is basically another version of you with slightly different minds in another different body. Basically, I like to keep it this way – a healthy relationship creates a space for you to be yourself with your partner in a way you feel comfortable with yourself. So if you are currently at this stage, your relationship is really worth keeping!

5. You feel heard and appreciated.

Saving the best for the last! A healthy relationship should make you feel heard and appreciated; and this is definitely a sign of great communication between both of you. Being in a relationship means intertwining two souls together, and nothing feels greater than to be understood in a relationship. Both of you really open the space for your vulnerabilities, difficulties, conflicting issues and interest to be heard and really make a move to solve the issues. Things never feel unsettled between you and your partner as both of you really take time to listen, understand and resolve things that come in your way.

Well, although this post might be based on my personal experience, these are truly the magic portions that both me and my partner have been relying upon throughout the relationship and we’re now happier than ever with each other! It’s good to keep up with your relationship and I hope this post will be helpful to keep your relationship in check!
