If you are a new to being a content creator or influencer, you definitely will want to have a media kit. A media kit is basically a resume that you will want to use when communicating with brands. A well written media kit conveys professionalism and is a great way to show examples of content and previous brands you have worked with. It can definitely help you leverage a larger rate for paid content deals.
First, I highly recommend making a Canva account if you do not have one. Canva is great for editing all types of content for your account in general (and you can also list the subscription as a business expense on your taxes). Canva has a TON of templates that you can look through and choose. Most are already formatted and already have sections for photos, a bio, etc. You can pick the color theme and fonts that appeal most to you!
Here are some things you will want to include on your media kit:
-Name, contact info, and brief intro: who are you?
-List of companies you have partnered with (both paid and gifted collabs)
-Examples of some of your content/photos, plus the platforms you use
-Audience information: think about including your follower location, average age, gender breakdown, etc. This information is all helpful for brands when they are looking for who to hire to promote their product.
-Insights: Include your follower size, engagement rate, and consider including insights such as number of accounts reached or average views. The applicable metrics do depend on the platforms you work on.
-I would not include your rates in your media kit because you want to be able to negotiate as much as possible. If you have your rates published anywhere, a brand with a large budget may not offer higher compensation.
