✨Travel Diaries 🇬🇧: Burton Agnes Manor House

I recently took a trip to Burton Agnes Manor House and had an unforgettable experience. The Manor House is open from April to October, daily from 11 am to 5 pm, and is closed from November to March. If you're visiting, there's a car park behind the nearby church, which is easy to find by following signs for the house.

Burton Agnes House was built between 1170 and 1180 by Roger de Stuteville. It has a rare Norman undercroft and an amazing 15th-century roof. Although the house was encased in brick during the 17th and 18th centuries, you can still sense the medieval atmosphere as you explore.

During my visit, I was especially impressed by the art exhibition and the beautiful rooms. The drawing room stood out to me, showcasing elegance and history in equal measure. There was an exhibition going on when I visited which added something special to the experience, making the whole visit even more enjoyable.

If you're planning to visit the Hall and Gardens, adult tickets cost £15.50, while tickets for children aged 4-15 are £8.50. There’s also a family ticket for £39.50, covering two adults and two children. If you just want to explore the gardens, an adult ticket is £10.50, and for children, it’s £7.00. Children under 4 can enter for free, making it a great place for a family day out.

Note that the Old Hall (manor house) is free to visit if you’re an English Heritage member but Burton Agnes Hall has a separate admission fee. If you love history, art, and unique architecture, Burton Agnes Hall is a must-visit.
