Secret step to at home iced coffee

“But, we have iced coffee at home.”

I would usually oppose this statement with the fact that at home coffee just truly does not do it for me like a coffee shop one, but I’ve found the key step to making a better at home iced coffee.

The key step to better iced coffees/lattes is a shaker! I use one that I’ve had at home forever and it’s actually a cocktail shaker but it works perfectly. With a shaker, I feel like all the ingredients I use for my coffee, milks, sweeteners, syrups- taste so much better because they’re properly mixed. This is especially important if you’re adding things like cinnamon, honey or brown sugar. In addition to the ingredients blending better, the shaker also gives a frothy layer to the top of my iced coffee.

You want to make sure you put ice in the shaker with your liquids before you start shaking.

Then once I’ve given the shaker a good shake, making sure it’s properly closed as I’ve not checked this before and had the liquid shoot out at me a few times before, pour it into your favorite cup.

Make sure you also open up the shaker and empty out the foamy part of the iced coffee into your drink.

Then there you go. Using a shaker really makes a difference in the taste of my iced coffee.
