The Asylum Confessions by Jack Steen is a spooky compilation of murderer testimonies. Fans of thriller, horror, and crime will enjoy indulging in these stories.

This recent read was assigned last month for one of my book clubs - really leaning into the Halloween angle!

I was feeling the festive, scary vibes for the holiday, so that’s why my rating is high. Overall the writing/editing is terrible. There are blatant spelling errors throughout. I wish Steen did a better job creating a backstory for his character/alter ego. However, the author does warn us in the foreword that he is not a writer. If you enjoy mysteries, piecing together story components, and serial killers - this is a read for you!
