BOOK REVIEW 📚🗣️ Every Summer After

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune is this week’s recent read! I picked up the novel as required reading for my book club.

I’m a huge fan of the friends-to-lovers trope and second chances at romance! It’s a sweet, lighthearted read with cute dialogue and family dynamics. The chapters flip between the present and past narration of protagonist Persephone Fraser. The story follows Persephone’s journey as she returns to her beloved summer home located on the outskirts of Toronto after her childhood best friend Sam Florek’s mother passes away. Old drama resurfaces and reveals the reasoning behind Persephone and Sam’s falling out.

⭐️Overall rating: 3/5 stars

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to a friend. It was light-hearted, and the writing was cute. However, at certain points the story dragged. A lot of details felt unnecessary and harped on.
