BOOK REVIEW 📚🗣️ Lessons in Chemistry

I finished this book today! It took me three days, with the novel clocking in at around 385 pages.

I enjoyed the writing style of author Bonnie Garmus. The story moved quickly with delightful callbacks and commentary.

I’m a sucker for a strong female protagonist. Elizabeth Zott, talented chemist turned host on a daytime cooking show, is precisely that. Sadly, she is disregarded at basically every turn due to the societal standards of 1950s America. This novel is witty and impactful.

I’ll admit I struggled to read certain parts. Trigger warning: there are detailed accounts of abuse.

Some parts were really dark and heavy.
