my CRUNCHY GIRL CHECKLIST for 2024 🐄🌾👩🏻‍🌾

what’s the crunchiest thing you’ve done so far in 2024? for me its been making my own household cleaners and drinking straight up heavy cream 🤭

i have been trying to be more and more aware of the things i put into my body and environment. here’s a checklist of a few rituals i follow to avoid endocrine disrupters, PUFAs, and overall feel good about what i spend my money and time on:

✅ body and face soaps from local, artisan soap makers. key ingredients i look for: goat milk, beef tallow, beeswax, coconut oil, organic essential oils.

✅ DIY household cleaners. for this one i used dr bronner sal suds, distilled vinegar, baking soda, and a few drops of lavender essential oil. sal suds does contain sodium lauryl sulfate which i’m not a fan of but i’ve struggled to find cleaner bases without it (if you know of any drop a comment!)

✅ cooking with animal fat and saturated fats ONLY. at this point we should all be aware that PUFAs/s€€d o¡ls are terrible for your health. so ditch the canola and sunflower oil for butter, tallow, & ghee. coconut, olive, and avocado oil are good options too!

✅ knowing what your food is made of and choosing natural, organic ingredients- even better if you’re buying from a local small business. the simpler the ingredient list, the better!
