your guide to getting that DRIVING LICENSE 🚘

I passed my TP slightly over a month ago! sooooo here I am with a guide for you if you’re planning on learning to drive~

for some context, I was a private 3A student at BBDC and it took me a total of 9 months to get my license because:

1. I had one lesson a week bc of my busy schedule

2. I stopped taking lessons a few times for at least 2-3 weeks each time as I was going overseas

3. I failed my first TP (I’ll share why below!) and the next available date was almost 2 months away

📢 slide 2: enrolling as a private student at bbdc

please make an appt as they don’t allow walk-ins for course enrollment! you’ll be given the username and asked to create a password for your BBDC website login. the phototaking for your license will be on the day of your appt… I wasn’t aware and look horrendous on my license…

I applied for BTT on the earliest date I could on the BBDC website. I practiced for BTT and FTT using online tests and got 49/50 and 50/50 respectively for the actual tests. also, once you pass BTT, apply for your provisional driving license (PDL)!

📢 slide 3: my driving license timeline

I registered with my private driving instructor (PDI) and informed him when I was taking my BTT. we then planned for a date a few days after my BTT (so the application of PDL could be processed) for my first driving lesson!

you can only book TP driving simulator (TPDS) after you have completed 5 practical lessons with your PDI. upon completing my 5th practical lesson, my PDI brought me to BBDC to verify that I have completed 5 practical lessons and I booked my TPDS on the BBDC website once it’s made available for my account.

during my first tp, I completed all the courses in circuit except crank course. as I was driving out of the slope course……… my car didn’t stop fully, which is an immediate fail because there is a stop line. DON’T MAKE MY MISTAKE.

I shared my steps for u-turns and for each course in my driving notes! please note that a different car would mean the techniques might differ! sooo do check with your instructors! however, techniques for slope and ramp should be the same~
