The BEST reno ideas for your cat 🐱

We knew our cat (Theo) was going to move into our new home right from the start, so it was a no-brainer to plan our BTO’s interior design to accommodate him! 📝

We wanted to design our home such that we could place Theo’s items (food bowl, water fountain, litter box, toys, supplies) conveniently + in a way that we wouldn’t trip over them. As are 4-room BTO is pretty small, we had to think in advance about where we wanted to how we wanted to place Theo’s items so that we wouldn’t have to compromise on our own space & storage.

Here are some things we planned for:

1. 🚰 Short common bathroom vanity to accommodate litter box underneath

We wanted to store Theo’s litter box in the bathroom because it’s not exactly very aesthetic, and after all the litter box is also his bathroom. It’s also super convenient this way because we can store his poop bags in the cabinet and throw them away immediately into the toilet’s covered bin

2. 🚿 Sliding shower door in common bathroom

We bathe Theo here, and needed an enclosed shower area to bathe & comb Theo so he doesn’t escape

3. 🍽️ Kitchen countertop with longer overhang

We leave Theo’s dry food bowl out 24/7, and needed somewhere safe to leave it that was convenient (close to the kitchen cabinets) yet somewhere we wouldn’t trip over!

4. 🔌 Sockets along kitchen counter

We placed sockets here as well so that we could plug in Theo’s water fountain conveniently! These sockets are rose-gold to blend in with our laminate

5. 🐱🚪 Cat door!

As mentioned in an earlier post, this is super important for Theo to come & go whenever, especially at night when we have the aircon on.
