I finally got a reservation at Dhamaka, an Indian restaurant in NYC that is all about bringing the vibrant flavors of India's regional cuisines to the Big Apple. 🍎
First off, the Bombil Fry ($21) - Don’t let the name bombay duck on the menu fool you, bombay duck is a type of fish! Coated in semolina and ginger, it was a 9/10 for me. Very delightful crunch and the ginger added a nice zing. 🐟
Next up, the Aloo Dhamaka ($14). This spiced potato dish with tamarind and spicy yogurt was a flavor bomb! A solid 9/10 for me. The server mixes everything for you. 🥔🌶️
The Champaran Meat ($42) was a nice surprise. Tender mutton with whole garlic and red chili, it was definitely a 10/10. The mutton was cooked to perfection, and the garlic and chili gave it a nice kick. 🍖🔥It is pretty spicy!
Lastly, the Kali Mirch Korma ($38) - desi chicken with whole black pepper and white poppy seed. This was also a 10/10 for me. The chicken was tender and the black pepper gave it a nice heat. 🍗🌶️Perfect with rice ($4) or chapati ($4)!
The staff at Dhamaka were incredibly friendly and attentive. The menu is brand new, so make sure to check their website for the latest! This is the perfect spot for a flavorful feast! Trust me, it is really good!
