My First Ever Spooky Encounter

Not gonna lie but I must say, as beautiful as Bali is, it is a spiritually hard place.

Nusa Penida during the day is beautiful but the second the sun goes down…not so beautiful anymore. The streets were pitch black. No lamp posts at all and we could only rely on our bike lights and phone lights.

We were on our way back after a night of shisha and my partner (Saufi) and I decided to take the lead back home. I became the google map. I had to direct him properly in order for us not to get lost in a very very dark and ulu place.

I kept hearing singing. You know the kind where a girl is singing to a slow Indonesien song while combing her hair. Yes that’s the type of singing I heard.

After all the shit that went down, we never dared go out after the sun set. Our villa too on the other hand… literally all the hotel staffs is no where to be seen after 8pm. Lights were out and we did not see any other guests. On top of that we were in the middle of a forested area. Left, Right, front and back were all trees! Which now that I think about it is pretty weird…

The night that it happened, my friend had a dream of a grandma telling her “get your friends to return the seashells they collected” which we did. Never again would I wanna collect seashells. Right before Saufi threw the sea shells into the sea, he fell and had a very bad cut. Mind you there was no way he could fall. On a non slippery flat ground… bad luck maybe?

Was bored on one of the nights staying in while my friends were continuing with the itinerary I decided to search on Nusa Penida’s history and see if anyone else had similar experiences. I was definitely not expecting the results…On top of that my friends actually did hear some singing too in the middle of a forested area at night and one of them literally shouted “EH WHO SINGING SIA” u know what they say… jagan tegur (don’t say). After that Welp he got disturbed. He couldn’t sleep cuz he kept hearing knocking on his door🙃

Our stay the next few nights was peaceful. So I thought hey let’s join them on the remaining itinerary left since it’s our last day. Man I’ve never experienced something like that before. It was so peaceful until we reached the parking lot. BAM the sounds of angry animals were so loud I was truly terrified and wanted to get the hell out of there.

Maybe that’s why majority of trips to Nusa penida are day trips…🙂
