Is this my go-to Korean restaurant in SG? 🍜

This Korean restaurant, @ajummasg is known for having snaking lines throughout the day, and is known for serving authentic Korean food. After reading multiples reviews, I decided to pay a visit at their PLQ outlet one afternoon to see if it is worth the hype.

Their 𝐉𝐣𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐦𝐲𝐞𝐨𝐧 comes with fresh hand-pulled noodles and pork chunks all tossed in their black bean sauce and stir fried. The dish is filled with umami from the fermented black bean sauce, which clings onto the chewy noodles so well.

Secondly, the bowl of 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐠𝐲𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐤𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐤𝐬𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡 features knife-cut noodles in a rich pork bone broth and topped with crispy pork belly and a drizzle of scallion oil. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had absorbed all that flavourful broth, and the crispy pork belly helped to complete the perfect bite.

Unfortunately, their 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 was a letdown where the sourness of the kimchi was too compelling and overpowered the dish. Additionally, the egg was over cooked and I found the rice to be too oily and mushy which checked all the boxes for a bad plate of kimchi fried rice. The only good point of this were the fresh prawns.

For the appetiser, we got their 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐠𝐠𝐬 which were light and acted as a palate cleanser for the mains. I paired this with my kimchi fried rice to help cut the sour flavours of the dish.
