Is this Michelin 🌟 Ramen worth the wait?

NAKIRYU, the second ramen restaurant to have been awarded a Michelin Star in Tokyo has opened its first outlet in Singapore. It is a 76 seater restaurant on the 2nd floor of Plaza Singapura. It specialises in Tan Tan Men, a sesame based creamy soup ramen. They also offer shoyu and shio ramen.

We tried their 🍜 𝑻𝒂𝒏 𝑻𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒆𝒏 🍜 . Each bowl of broth has crushed nuts, peanut paste, chilli oil and some pork based broth making it very nutty and creamy without being too cloying. The ramen noodles are hand pulled and has the perfect al dente texture. Everything is topped with more minced pork and spring onions.

Overall, the taste profile was complex and it is one of the most unique (in a good way) Tan Tan Men I’ve tried. I’ve never had a Tan Tan Men taste quite like this.

We got their 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔 as an appetiser to go along with the ramen. It was a meatball wrapped in a wanton skin before being deep fried to a beautiful golden brown, and topped with a small slice of cheese and mayo. While the wanton skin was interesting, the lack of cheese was mildly disappointing.

In all, this was the best Tan Tan Men I’ve tried and I recommend you come down to give it a try. The chef will be here till 17 Jan to supervise operations so do come during this time to experience the real deal.

Do note to arrive early as we reached 15 mins before they opened for operations but still had to wait an hour to be seated. Thankfully for us, our food were served very promptly.
