what I wish I knew before I started spin classes

so recently I’ve been on my #fitnessjourney , trying to get myself in shape for the #hotgirlsummer . so many of my friends have recommended me to try spin! but I was always so nervous because of some of the comments I’ve heard regarding spin and stuff 🥺 but as the saying goes “War does not determine who is right - only who is left” I’ve decided to try it myself!! And these are some things I’ve learnt from my experiences in spin

1. YOU DON’T NEED TO WEAR LULULEMON PANTS

I always thought a pair of lululemon tights were required to join a spin class, and since I didn’t own a pair I put off joining a class for the longest of time. But turns out you can wear any kind of exercise pants that you like. Personally, I wore a pair of FBTs and it was really comfortable and airy as I cycled 😙

2. YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY TO TAKE A MIRROR SELFIE

one of my favourite highlights of each spin session is the mirror selfie I can take with all the colourful neon lights in the room. after all, if I didn’t take a selfie after a spin session, did I even spin? And turns out it costs NOTHING for that selfie as it’s completely free!! what a bang for my buck.

3. YOU DON’T GET RHABDO ALL THE TIME

now this is one of the biggest concerns with spin: rhabdo. so when I first when for spin, I purposely booked a Monday morning class thinking that I can get a few days of MC by contracting rhabdo. But in the end, because i tapered my effort and didn’t push myself too hard, I didn’t get rhabdo and had to report for work 😓😓

blimey~ that was fun!! Well, all in all I can say spin is pretty fun and I would 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ recommend y’all try it out yourself. lmk in the comments about your spin experience!!
