Learning Tips & Tricks Backed by Science 🧬 🧠

It’s midterms season, and everyone is usually pretty stressed around this time, including yours truly! Anatomy is a beast for real!

However I thought I’d share some of my favorite learning tips with you for a slightly easier way to study! 📖

🔑Feynman Technique: You get to pretend to be the teacher and make your roommate, boyfriend or girlfriend, or mom listen to the information your test will be on! You can even throw in questions to see how well they are understanding it and how effective your teaching is! The better they understand the more you actually know the material yourself!

🔑Pre Lecture Prep: This is so essential and something I personally should have done more of when I was in college taking in person classes! Read your textbook before hand, even if it’s just a light skim! This primes your brain to retain more info and helps the new material sink in better!! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️

🔑Summary Sentences: In order to make sure you actually know the material and aren’t just parroting your notes. Try to put all the material from one topic into a comprehensive but easy to understand summary sentence! For science classes you can put together a page of formulas, equations, or helpful hints. STEM classes sometimes take more than just a sentence. This should provide you with the bare basics of what your topic is and then you can branch off from here! However, if you can boil it down to one main idea then you likely have a good grasp on the topic that you can always refer back to if you start feeling overwhelmed!
