No Caller ID

For those on conventional postpaid mobile plans, do you pay for the caller ID value added service?

As my mobile plan used to be paid by company, caller ID was already included. But after a change of employment and mobile plan arrangement, my plan now doesn’t include caller ID and I would need to pay extra for the caller ID every month.

So I decided not to pay, because really, why should I? Why can’t it be a free service?

Anyway, since I can’t change the service plans, I just have to make do with it.

Now, for all incoming calls, I won’t know who is calling or whether it’s a spam / scam call.

I either have to answer all calls or ignore them. I guess if it’s urgent matter, the callers would also SMS, WhatsApp, email me?

As I am still within contract term for the mobile plan, would need to wait till end next year before I can switch to other plans.
