My honest take on private rooms in SG

I’m sure we’ve all seen those private room TikToks (esp the sus ones…) on our fyp ~

These aesthetic playrooms are definitely on the rise. With so many of them popping up, I’ve always wondered if they’re actually worth the price 💰 Recently, I got invited to one & here are my honest thoughts on it 💭

What me & my friends got: VIP room (up to 6pax)

- sofa/bean bags

- two TVs

- a bunch of board/videogames (w consoles) 🎮

We were particularly hyped about the FREE FLOW snacks 🤤 they had your typical mummy pkts, the iconic muruku snack, prawn crackers, etc’. You can also order in your own food! Tho they do have a F&B menu which seems pretty convi if udw to order in ☑️

My initial thought going into this was that I was pretty doubtful on how we were gonna spend 3h stuck in a room BUT to my surprise we ended up asking for a 1h extension 🤯 got to credit this to Overcooked HAHA it was my first time playing as I’m not into games but it was surprisingly q fun! Time legit flew past in the blink of an eye omg

I can’t speak for the other priv room establishments, but 4Play in particular had amazing service ✨ I had some trouble finding the place (as usual) & they were super responsive when I msged them! They also very kindly provided us with a bunch of cutlery & extra consoles when we asked for them.

Now to what everyone’s probably wondering… how much?

💵 Default price (VIP): $129 for 3h

That sounds like a hefty amount if taken at face value, cause ik I was shocked when I first saw it 😭 but let’s break it down 🔨

This means it’s $43/h, which is STILL a little steep imo BUT if you turn up as 6pax, it’ll be an affordable ~$7+ per hour, per pax! Cheaper than having a meal in SG nowadays 🙂‍↕️ Inexchange you get to snack, netflix/youtube, & play as much as uw ⋆｡°✩ The atmosphere’s also really good due to the deco, aircon (heavenly in the current weather) & zero disturbance!

+ there’s a promo gg on rn! Their early bird promo is gg for $28/3h 🤯 that’s like what ~$9/h & if you divide by your friends… it’s below $2 each 😭

SOO is it worth it? If I was alone or only have one friend with me (couples don’t count 🙂❌) then I personally wouldn’t head back. However, if you’re coming with a group of friends to share the cost ✅👍🏻👍🏻 DOUBLE YES if you can snag up the early bird promo 🕊️
