the honeymoon phases doesn’t have to end

every relationship has a honeymoon phase, but after a while the butterflies fade, you start to feel more like roommates than people in love. you start to feel like there’s no point in even talking because you already know everything about them. and eventually almost everything they do annoys the crap out of you.

it doesn’t have to be this way…

the counter to this is pursing your person like they are a new person every single day. act like you just started dating by asking them questions and doing new things with them. get out of the day-to-day routine!

i love the 7-7-7 rule for this. it suggests:

- every 7 days go out on a date

- every 7 weeks spend a day together

- every 7 months go away on a vacation or trip together

this keeps connection and trying new things together as a priority.
