5 Small Ways I Show My Partner Love

When you are young, watching Disney princesses get swept of their feet by charming princes, it's easy to believe that love is made up of large, romantic gestures. But as you get older and experience the realities of showing up to love another real-life human day after day after day, you realize that while those grand gestures can be a part of it, the reality of love is far simpler in nature.

For me, in my own relationship, love is made up of small gestures that help improve the other person's life in even the most mundane ways. Its not rose petals lining the hallway to the bedroom but is instead leaving their favorite cozy socks out on the bed on a cold winter's morning. Its little things, that to the outside world might seem inconsequential or insignificant but mean something to you and your partner.

I encourage you to look for these small things in your relationship. Look for ways to give them to your partner and look for ways that they are giving them to you. You might be surprised how many times your partner says I love you without you even knowing it.
