Hey, everyone!
Thomson Nature Park is a really beautiful, serene, and peaceful place to visit if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and spend time with nature!:) You can hear birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind and see lots of macaque LOL🐒🐒
There are also many fruit trees 🌳 such as fig trees, durian trees, rambutan trees, mangosteen trees :D
This place is really underrated, I feel!
Here is some background information about the park:
🔴It is the site of a former Hainanese village
🔴Visitors will be able to see the remains and ruins of the abandoned Hainanese village and rambutan plantations once bustling with kampung life in the 1930s
🔴A conservation site of the shy and elusive critically endangered Raffles Banded Langurs
🔴Distance: 3.8 Km
🔴Level of difficulty: Easy to moderate
🔴Estimated walking time: 1-2 hours
The ruins showcase wells, staircases, walls, building foundations, the old road network, and fruit trees that are still bearing fruit in the present, haha🌳🌳
If you're interested in looking at ruins, Thomson Nature Park is a great place to visit :) Wildlife living in the forest include species such as the Sunda Pangolin, Sambar Deer, Leopard Cat, Lesser Mousedeer, Malayan Box Turtle, Straw Headed Bulbul, snakes and many common bird species 🐦 🐦⬛ 🦜
HOW TO GO BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
➡️Take bus 🚌 138 or 169 from Ang Mo Kio bus interchange and alight at 'Aft Tagore Dr' bus stop. Then, walk🚶♂️ straight for 2 minutes to the entrance of the park🌳
