LEIDEN — NETHERLAND’S VIBIEST STUDENT TOWN ✨😍👩‍🎓

i went to leiden on a day trip ☀️ (context: i stayed in tilburg, netherlands) and really enjoyed it! it was recommended by a friend studying there for the VIBESZ and i can really tell you it was so vibey 😎!

ok back to the post: leiden was mainly locals (unlike amsterdam & now utrecht too) & they were so chill, living their slow-paced lives lounging around on the boats 🚤 ~ the canals were really nice here, as well as the streets & the churches! the cafes were nice as well, on a sunny day ☀️ everyone is j sitting outside enjoying themselves ☺️

you can take a 30min ish train🚆 to leiden from amsterdam! its pretty near den haag as well and other popular destinations to visit in the netherlands 🇳🇱 so its a very accessible place. and the entire leiden is walkable🚶‍♀️ cos its not very big!

Molen De Valk

🌬️ windmill in leiden! its really nice when viewed across the canal w the boats gg thru & people j picnicking on the grass patch near d windmill

🌬️ or viewed down the road so the rows of trees & shops frame it from the side!

🌬️ apparently can go inside, issa museum, but we never enter

Rapenburg

💦 rly nice canal framed by houses that look rly dutch, v amsterdam vibes here

💦 but diff vibe cos is more locals & more chill, less people

💦 locals on the boats passing thru the canals r so cute!

💦 j sit on a bench alongside the canal and watch

Jan Pesijnshof

📜 historical place of residence similar to another one in amsterdam, this one is less guarded but still requires silence cos residents live here!

📜 is behind a closed wooden door so js have to gan gan open it up, its allowed & ur not trespassing

Burcht Van Leiden

🏰 fortress up on a small hill! can climb the fortress for p sick views of leiden (trees block some of the views tho)

🏰 grassy area around the fortress where people chill & picnic, such a vibe honestly

Marekerk

🔔 not very nice looking from up close but like across the canal it looks rly nice

Hartebrugkerk

⛪️ nice church, love the blue exterior & columns

Pieterskerk

🛐 typical gothic church

Lupi Coffee

☕️ really nice area to sit outside on a good day under an umbrella & people watch the famous street

☕️ iced teas r nice, they put the blend of tea leaves inside beside the counter so u can smell it for urself and decide which to get

Woo Ping

🥡 the most outrageous fever dream experience ever, not even joking

🥡 food was meh at best, everything tasted like black bean sauce and the pork belly was lowkey HARD AHHAHAHA

🥡 had a merlion logo… n the waiter (founders grandson) was so chatty and the whole conversation was as confusing as the food

🥡 after-dinner sweets were hella confusing as well

🥡 our friend staying in leiden double confirmed the food was damn shitty HAHAHAHHAA
