this is GDANSK! the first place i visited in Poland 🇵🇱 i flew in to the gdansk airport & started my poland journey here — spent about a full day total here (i was HARDCORE SPEEDRUNNING poland so…). i rly thought gdansk was such a beautiful city with really good vibes, i enjoyed myself there! most people go to only warsaw & krakow, but PLEASE do yourself a favour 🙏 and go to gdansk as well!

Bridge of Love

🌉 j another european bridge w love locks on it LOL

St Bridget’s Church

🏅 the first church i paid to enter in a veryvery long time!

🏅 the golden alterrr! so so stunning to look at cos its literally radiating gold & its hugeee

🏅 thrs a crypt at the bottom w a lot of skulls & abit creepy but super interesting as well!

Monument to the Defenders of the Polish Post Office

🔫 statue w a lottt of history to it! so it was interesting to view

🔫 represents a dying polish officer being given a gun (albeit too late..)

Museum of the Second World War

📚 was recco-ed this by a lot of people! the only war museum we visited in poland besides auschwitz

📚 audio guide was rly interesting

📚 museum was HUGE we were listening intently for like 2.5h then we got abit bored & burntout so… kinda spedrun 1/4 the museum we had left to cover HAHHAHA

📚 rly rly impactful was the street at the start (the before war) vs the same street at the end of the museum route (the after war)

St Mary’s Basilica

🔔 big grand church! inside prettier than what i thought it wld be cos the outside is v meh

Mariacka Street

💍 the street w a ton of cheap polish anber jewellery! i really liked some of the pieces but we didnt have enough time to slowly look thru all of them

Motlava River

🏞️ walked along this but alot alot of construction & like it was all boarded up so it was impossible to take photos…

🏞️ was pretty (i love water bodies) but it was just insanely boarded up so we could barely see much ;(

Długa Street

🌈 the really famous one w the colourful buildings! was incredibly beautiful to see irl & we had a lil photoshoot w it keke

🌈 we entered by green gate & exited by golden gate! both had a lot of construction being undergone either on the structure itself or nearby so it was abit of an eyesore :(

🌈 the main things to see there were the townhall & fountanna neptuna!

FOOD!

Łąka Bar

🍵 really good service! they were superrr friendly & overall it was a very pleasant experience

🍵 they have diff deals for diff days & the day we went we had rly cheap cider w our meal! the apple cider also i think was homemade and was delicious omg tastes vv diff from somersby apple cider

🍵 food also was damn yummy, and super affordable! we really loved what we ordered

Drukarnia

🥐 superb pastries & yummy ass lemonade (pls avoid the matcha tho cos they rly dk how to make matcha in europe it was bad)

🥐 the pastry was huge, we shared 1!

🥐 pretty pricey for poland’s standard, more towards Western Europe’s pricing (but im writing this in denmark and denmarks pastries were all more than this price so its really just subjective HAHAHAHA)

Pierogarnia Mandu

🥟 highly recco-ed by a friend! it was really good tho both me and my friend found out that we really enjoy pierogis! soo yummy thick skin doesnt bother me cos i like it!

🥟 we ordered 1 traditional pierogi & 1 fried dumpling and both were legit amazing like i loved it SO much

🥟 they had dessert dumplings too if u wanna give it a try but i dont HAHA cos i just cant reconcile w the thought of sweet dumplings
