SPLIT, CROATIA GUIDE: REVIEWS, TIPS & FOOD ✨😍✈️ 🇭🇷

really enjoyed my little beachy getaway in split, croatia & in this post (as part of #sarahineurope — a series of my 101 tipstricksreviews for attractions and food that i had in all 24 countries i visited in europe!) i will be sharing some cool places & activities i did (& recommend!!) as well as some food ~ i did this as a solo traveller so its very solo friendly as well ☺️

split is not as expensive as dubrovnik, and its really pretty so its a nice place to go to! 🏖️ but its a VERY hardcore party town so be prepared for the late-night noise! 🍾🎊 there are SOOO many activities to do in split — its more an activity place than a sightseeing place so take note. also from my exp, buying online is cheaper than buying on the spot cos altho can haggle, they try to up the price 🥲

ok moving on to the reviews!!

𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒!

Diocletian’s Palace

🏛️ St Dominis Cathedral & Bell Tower: i didnt personally pay to climb the bell tower for the views so idk but the bell tower frames the square nicely!

🏛️ Jupiter’s Temple: a disappointment, the exterior didnt stand out to me & there were restaurants outside so it kinda j blended in w the rest of the old town; i didnt enter the inside tho!

🏛️ Basement Halls: wld be eerie if i was alone but its packeddd so lots of people walking thru! basically j an underground walkway

🏛️ Peristil Square & Vestibule: my fav part of the old town! is like a square beside and everyone just congregates together there, thrs restaurant beside so thr r cushions for u to sit and vibe w a drink or stg

🏛️ Pazar Market: im a bit desensitised to markets so idk i just walked thru abit, and thrs fresh food, souvenirs, beach essentials & basically everytg

🏛️ People’s Square: another square but i prefer peristil cos its more unique

Riva Promenade

⛱️ really nice to sit and chill at the benches & hv a sea view or people watch cos thrs many restaurants & outside seating terraces!

GYG Half-Day Boat Trip to Trogir, Blue Lagoon & Labadusa Beach

🚤 overall j a rly fast speedboat ride to the various islands, along w free flow water & wine (not when on the boat, is super bumpy cos of the wavess & lowk brought back banana boat memories cos theres a little metal rail for u to hold on and thats it LOL + we didnt wear life jackets 🙂‍↕️

🚤 trogir was a nice historical city (i rmbr people lived here in BC!!) & the vibes were super similar to split! went up the fortress for good views but the skipper told us that we can climb the bell tower of st lawrence church for better views

🚤 blue lagoon was HELLAA crowded cos all the boat tours bring to the same place but there was a walkway inside w a blue carpet over the rocks which made it rly nice to walk on! the water was super clear tho and cos we had snorkels w the tube we could just see the fish in d water swimming around, it was beautiful!! (albeit too commercialised for my liking)

🚤 Labadusa beach was just another beach, didnt really stand out to me tho the water was super clear as well & theres alot of fish too! (& alot of people) & theres also jetskis you can rent but they r p expensive

GYG Krka Waterfalls, Skradin & Wine-Tasting

🏝️ the waterfalls werent say the most impressive but it was so beautiful! and there were alw little streams of water and small waterfalls all around when you walk around the park & as always the water is soooo clear but you cant swim in it :(

🏝️ skradin beach was just another beach, had to take a boat ride to there & it was a rocky beach but the water was so gorgeously clearrr

🏝️ wine tasting was so nice! esp the cheese & bread & olive oil thats homemade, those were super good oml & the wine itself was rly nice (im not a connoisseur so idk im just thr fr vibes), i esp lovedd the last one the dessert wine! & there was in total 4 cups and all of them were hits except the red wine cos im not a red wine girlie

🏝️ guide for this was rly good, provided a lot of useful info but at the same time knew when to stop yapping also

GYG Cetina River Rafting

🚣 so so so SOOOO FUN! highlight of this trip bc im an adrenaline junkie & i loveee adventuring around!!! misdirected energy prior has led me to be very reckless especially in iceland and mallorca (sorry friends) but i was able to do it safely here w guides & at such a superlow risk level cos they r all so mild

🚣 rafting was actl p tiring! esp doing it for long periods of time w the currents against you! n too mild to feel anytg imo cos it was level 1/2 or something so the rapids werent very scary it was super mild & the instructors controlled the raft v well & gave good instructions (even on my raft, which had a supervised trainee & kept drifting more right/left instead of staying in d middle of the river)

🚣 river itself was so clear (as usual, all the waters in croatia are SOOO CLEAR) & the temp was not thaaaat cold so it was rly nice to swim in! i rly enjoyed it hehe

🚣 & the cave!! soooo fun!! we just waited till they finished setting up the rope lines & the lights on the ledge then the instructors GO GO GO GO GO JUMP JUMP JUMP so scary like im in war and i too 胆小 so i didnt dare to jump in first… jumped second tho & the water was HELLA ICE COLD and the cave walls were so slippery to climb but i had a greattt experience & then after we had to climb tons of rocks (not an ez route… was using hands most of the time also…) and i paved d way 😎 but they also had rope & ledges jic u needed extra help so it still felt really safe (altho one slip n u hit the rocks KAKAKA but it was nt v high idt u will get any serious injuries)

🚣 cliff jumping I FINALLY DID IT!! 5m high!! (low but high for me hehe my last one was probably only 2m…) i was falling so long i got confused tbh HAHAHA & q painful cos i nvr enter d water properly… i tend to V or plank instead of enter straight toe first the water (cheer… habits…)

🚣 overall the guides were very hands off so u kind of do shit yourself but then they provide some support when u need it & also the activities itself were superrrr mild its deffo very family friendly HAHAHA so issa good intro to more extreme sports ig keke

🍔 interesting burger flavour i tried: blueberry jalepeno… HAHAHA was rly not too bad & it was hugeee! was expensive but avg price for split i feel so not too bad la

🍔 go early! we went at 7.30 & they were fully out of outdoor seating, then at 9pm when we left there was a long line for all seats

Deep Shade Konoba

🍤 filos recco for cheap seafood!! so i had the squid ink risotto w cuttlefish & it was so good i beasted the entire plate + the price was decent for split!

🍤 restaurant is slightly diff location from the actual map listing but dw someone will bring u thr u j gotta wait whr the menus r at HAHA

Pun Kufer Cocktail Bar

🍸 went like 3x the entire time i was here, literally alm every night & i brought 3 diff grps of people here

🍸 cocktails under €10, really a hidden gem & they were all super good (i like it cos alcohol taste nt v prominent keke)!
