A Naruto-themed room at Mount Austin, JB?! 🥷🏮

We went on another #jbtrip recently and this time, we stayed at the popular Mount Austin area. It's brimming with good food and entertainment options, albeit a littler pricey.

Wanted to a more interesting accommodation different and we chanced upon this apartment!

💭 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:

I've been really into Naruto recently as B made me watch it on Netflix. We chanced upon Nest Home while searching for accommodation around Mt.

Austin and they offer different themed rooms (there's a teddy bear suite, One Piece suite,

Doraemon suite too).

There's only one bed for this unit which is good for couples, and we didn't expect much for the amenities, focusing mostly on the interesting theme and the very convenient location.

🚗 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞:

After crossing custom, we booked a Grab which dropped us directly at the apartment (the entrance to the lift landing is beside P-Loko Cafe). The host also provided very comprehensive steps to get the keys to the unit.

⭐️ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬:

🍥 The unit was gorgeous. We were impressed when we stepped inside and it was nothing like the typical apartment/hotel in JB. Loved the colour and the decor (especially the lanterns which we didn't could light up!)

🍥 They provided water dispenser so we could refill our own water-bottle instead of buying bottled water. There's also a fridge and freezer to keep all our snacks/ice cream.

🍥 The location was amazing- just across the Da

Tou Lala Pot so you could check the q before going.

Hotpot, karaoke, massage were also all within walking distance.

🍥 The aircon was reasonably cold and comfortable, and the internet was alright. There was a smart TV so we could continue watching Naruto on Netflix while chilling.

🍥 They provided Naruto-themed photo props like the Akatsuki robe, forehead protectors, shurikens and even a Kurama soft toy.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬:

🍥 The toilet was pretty basic and the sink was outside the toilet (which I didn't like). It was reasonably clean though.

🍥 The unit was pretty warm due to the sun direction(?), so we chose to keep the blinds closed at all times (making the unit pretty dark). Aircon +fan was also a must for us cos it was warm.

🍥 The tatami and cushions were not the cleanest.

There were stains and it’s also pretty dusty. It probably wasn't easy for them to clean the tatami and cloth cushions.

🍥 The kitchen & washing machine area didn't give us a good vibe so we just avoided the kitchen most of the time.

𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭: Overall, we enjoyed our 3 nights there and while we probably will not choose to stay there again, I think it's a must-try especially if you like Naruto/Japanese anime. It's also not the cheapest unit but I enjoyed taking pics in the room with the props and the unit was very spacious.
