What I listen to while reading 🎧

Sometimes I read in silence, other times I don’t. It depends on the mood I’m in but sometimes I’ll pop in my AirPods and listen to something.

Things I listen to while I’m reading:

1. I really enjoy listening to Alexa reading to me while I follow along with my book. It helps me read faster, I’ve read so many more books now that I have that. If you wanna find out how I do that, check out my “how to read more books” post!

2. I also really enjoy reading music that isn’t my normal metal bands. As much as I love metal, I cant focus when I listen to it and try to read at the same time. Metal gets me way too hype, so I listen to my more slower sexy/sad music like Ethel Cain and cigarettes after sex. Don’t get me wrong, I still get super hype listening to these but it’s easier to turn them down and have that background noise while I read.

3. My number one for night reading is asmr. I have anxiety and it manifests a lot at night so I like to read and listen to asmr to try to simmer it down. It helps me relax. I typically listen to gibiasmr but I like to switch it up from time to time.
