Books from the B&N YA section I’ve read

Went to Barnes and Noble today and reminisced the times when I read a lot of young adult books. Now a days I’m very reluctant about reading YA novels because I don’t feel as connected to them. I’m an adult who has a hard time putting myself in the shoes of teenagers but there are some I would still read, I’m just wary of which ones I choose now.

This book was pretty boring a lot of the times. The plot twist was super noticeable and just meh. I figured it out right away and was disappointed with how it panned out. I also felt some extreme predatory vibes in this one. Death knows her since she was a baby and that feels weird to me. But I know this one is super popular and hyped up so maybe you’ll love it who knows.

God I love this series. This first book intrigued me a lot. It was odd enough to keep me wanting to know more. This dystopian future concept was so cool and I think if you like movies like the hunger games and divergent then you’ll love this series. The series gets less YA as it goes on, not fully going into new adult but just becoming more serious and cool.

Definitely one of my favorite YA books of all time. It’s just genius. The only reason why this book is YA is because there is no sexy scenes but concept wise it’s 100% new adult. I don’t think I’d comprehend this plot as well if I read this as a teen. Regardless, this book deserves awards.
