Why is no one talking about this RDL hack???? 🍑

Everyone’s biomechanics are different. Some gals will tell me their glutes are on FIRE after doing RDLS, but personally I’ve ALWAYS struggled so feel them in my glutes. & I know a lot of my clients and friends do as well. ❌

If you’re in this boat, here are my best tips for firing up those glutes 👇🏼🍑⚡️

1️⃣ THINK OF THIS MOVEMENT AS A STANDING HIP THRUSTS. Think about your hips move back and forth not just moving the weight up and down.

2️⃣ USE A BAND TO HELP YOU GET THIS MOVEMENT DOWN. Omgg my glutes are literally 🔥🔥🔥 when I use a band. Even with several years of experience with RDLs, I prefer to use a band for the direct tension on the glutes!!

3️⃣ Don’t lower the weights too far because you’ll start to load your low back more instead of your glutes. I aim to bring the weight about mid height.

Also, disclaimer — as a scientist and CPT, I want you all to know that RDLS are supposed to mainly target the hamstrings BUT you can also target your glutes. I wouldn’t call this a solely glute workout though so don’t be concerned if you feel your hammies!
