Hello 🍋

A continuation from my previous posts regarding my gown picks with Bridefully Yours. You may read from the below links!

My experience with Bridefully Yours

My PWS gown with Bridefully Yours

Putting up the gowns that were chosen for my huge milestones.

TLDR: I received many compliments for second and third gowns. Basically these are the ones I wore during my banquet! LOL. The one that I wore for PWS was also complimented by looking at the photos 😎

When it comes to AD gown selections, I did have a few requirements:

1. To show more of my body curve

2. No obvious bulgy tummy - I have very bad bloated tummy most of the times so this is a no-go for me

3. Low-back gown

4. Neckline of which I don’t wear on usual days

5. No ball gown - my venue has a very narrow aisle

6. Long veil for march in - but I ended up forgetting about it (thankfully we managed to use it for FTB!)

7. As well as a few more which I can’t remember at this moment

As for my PWS shoot, as we’ve confirmed the locations before gown selection, it was much easier for me. I wanted to achieve a flowy feel, the gown has to be layered with sash.

Here’s the reasons why they are my final picks!

Slide 1&2 - worn during FTB & photoshoot at our alma mata. This gown has a sweetheart neckline which I really love. The bust area and train also gave a European vibe which I didn’t see it on other gowns at BY. The details are really pretty.

Oh, and most importantly, I do not need any push-up/stick-on for this gown! 😌

I did not alter much of the length for this gown as I didn’t foresee much walking. Kudos to my bridesmaids for helping me with the train too! ✨

Slide 3&4: my second gown of the day. I wore this for tea ceremony, solemnisation and first march-in and short dance. Can you tell how much I love this gown by now?

It was a love at first sight! 😻 I’m someone who loves ruched dresses on normal days. This gown captivated my attention with its ruched waist and unique neckline! I would never imagine myself wearing this neckline to work so I thought THIS SHALL BE IT!

I’m not someone with an obvious hour-glass body however this gown has displayed what I wanted. Walking in this gown can be quite challenging despite having length altered. I was told that if further alteration was required, it wouldn’t be as nice as I’ll look even smaller than how I already am. So I held onto my gown while walking the whole time instead which wasn’t an issue for me.

Slide 5&6: I know I wanted something different for evening gown however one thing for sure was that blue would not be in my selection as I had seen so many friends (brides) wearing blue during their second march-in. At that point of time, I was looking for something striking yet not too loud at the same time.

When I was browsing thru their racks, I came across a few colours - red, purple, yellow, green & black. Yes, I wanted black but was told a big 🙅‍♀️ Since I have quite a few elderlys there, I decided to go for 🔴 on this special occasion and WOW IT COMPLEMENTS MY SKIN TONE SO MUCH!

Another thing I love about this gown was the back. It checked my list of a low-back gown. It also helped to perk my butt (I’m someone who doesn’t have much asset 🥲). Of course push up was required for this gown. I used BOOMBA stick-ons.

However, I realised that it would be visible from the side of the gown (front view). So brides who decide to go with this gown, please be very mindful of the BOOMBA shape you purchase!

Slide 7&8: PWS gown that took me so long to decide. I love the back details - sash tie with a peekaboo hole in between.

Overall, I would advise brides to go for gowns that you’re comfortable in! It’s your big day and you wouldn’t want to be worrying about wardrobe malfunction! Practicality is the best! ✨
