The Invisible String theory suggests that everyone has someone in their lives who is attached to them by an unbreakable string that transcends time, distance, and geography.

How does this apply to my fiancé and I? Well let me tell you.

My fiancé and I first dated back in December of 2013 when we were both in high school. I was a sophomore and he was a senior. He had just moved that semester from Las Vegas. Our mutual friend introduced us and we hit it off immediately, but only ended up dating for about a week. At the time, I had not yet deconstructed from Christianity and was in a vastly different place in my life. He graduated Spring of 2014, and I finished my last two years, graduating in 2016. We both went out separate ways. I went to college and started dating someone who turned out to be really bad for me. Around July of 2020, I had a dream about my boyfriend from high school and how he would never treat me the way I was being treated now. I woke up and I realized my relationship was abusive and I started planning how to leave, ultimately not being able to until September, but I kept having those dreams and it kept me going. In January of 2021, I was swiping on a dating app and up pops my high school boyfriend. I figured, this must be fate, and swiped right. Turns out we’d both moved home with our parents during the pandemic, and they lived in the same neighborhood, a block from each other. When we go out on first date, seven years after we first met, we pick up like we’d never stopped dating in the first place. It’s like the universe always wanted us to be together, we just needed to do a little self growth and exploration first. We’re now engaged to be married and have never been happier🥰

I believe in fate, how about you?
