Save or Splurge: Switzerland Edition

We just spent a week in Switzerland and we were so tight with our money, but it really took some thinking about where we should save or splurge, so here's our breakdown!

We saved on accommodations by staying in a Hostel, which we usually do when traveling to Europe. We get a private room that ends up being cheaper than a hotel for 2 people and also offers us a space to cook in the communal kitchen which helps us save money on food. We splurged on the Swiss Travel Pass and took advantage of the included infinite train rides, and the discounts on attractions. We opted to save on experiences like paragliding and instead choosing to see the city by doing one of our favorite things: walking around. When it comes to splurging on shopping, I try to make sure what I'm buying isn't something I can get where I'm coming from, so that I'm always reminded of a wonderful trip.
