How To Fish For King Salmon in Wisconsin 🐟

Up in Door County, there’s no end to the amount of outdoor activities you can do. Despite visiting many times, this was my first time heading out to fish for king salmon on Lake Michigan!

🌊 Lake Michigan is so big, that there are times when you can see no land in sight around you. It truly feels like you’re in the ocean!

🛳️ You’ll meet your captain at the dock in Bailey’s Harbor for either the morning or evening trip. The captain recommended mornings for more predictable catches & said June is the best month for salmon and trout. However, we opted for the evening trip in July and it totally paid off.

🐟 We caught a total of 10 salmon & just missed one jumping trout that hopped almost 8 feet in the air and flew off the hook. I caught the biggest one of the day at almost 25 pounds!
