Recent Reads and My Thoughts

My Roommate is a Vampire 🏠🧛‍♂️: I’m not a big romance person however I genuinely enjoyed this book. I loved reading about the progression of Cassie and Fredrick’s relationship. They really push for each other to grow. Although I feel as though the last couple of chapters were rushed.

Stolen Tongues 🏠🌨️: This book made me so paranoid. I loved the first half of the book. I read this book with the light on that’s genuinely how scary it was. Nothing scares me this easily especially a book. The second half of the book felt as if it was dragged out though.

Every Summer After ☀️🌊 : I really enjoyed this book however there’s a cheating trope and I no longer wanted to read the book. I love a good friends to lovers trope but this one was ruined.

The Summer I Turned Pretty 💄🩱: I hated this book. The age gap between Belly and Conrad is so weird. Plus Belly seems like a pick me. She makes everything about her and she’s so selfish. I really only liked the scenes with Jeremiah. He seems so sweet and genuine about his feelings for Belly. Conrad barely even seemed like he liked her in a platonic way. Not to mention her thoughts on Cameron are so brutal for no reason.

The Summer of Broken Rules: 💦🔫: This book was enjoyable until they actually started to end up together. I personally enjoyed their relationship before they got together. Their dynamic was way more playful. I feel like they should have just been a summer fling. I still liked the book though. The plot that they form an alliance even though they’re on different teams was so cute!

It’s Not Summer Without You 🪦🏖️: I know I hated the first one but I bought the three set so I figured the second one couldn’t be as bad. I was wrong. This book was so depressing. Some people can handle those types of books but it was too sad for me. Belly also felt the exact same as she was in the first book. She didn’t have any growth and she was still so immature. She makes everything about herself once again while OTHER CHARACTERS ARE CLEARLY GRIEVING!

We’ll Always Have Summer 💍🏝️: *MAJOR SPOILERS* This book was bearable compared to the other two simply because Conrad wasn’t in it as much. Belly seemed to have some character growth (I may be biased because she’s my age and I can relate to her now). Her connections with other characters seemed more sincere. My complaint is that the author switched the personalities of Jeremiah and Conrad. She had to bring down Jeremiah to make Conrad redeemable so Belly would choose him. I also don’t like how Jeremiah and Belly both thought that the solution to him cheating was to get married. Plus I feel like he didn’t even cheat since they were broken up at the time.
