I traveled to Idaho this summer and oh my god! I did not expect this! Idaho is truly America’s best kept secret. It’s not all potato’s. Here where I traveled:

- Boise:

Boise is such a cute North Western city. It has an adorable downtown area. As a whole it just has a really laidback vibe. You can walk around the city and get lunch somewhere cute. There’s so many green areas and parks for you to sit and just to enjoy life. And it is such a scenic city with a beautiful mountainous back drop. A waitress told me, “You can never be bored in Boise!” There is so much to do. If you’re tired of the city there are plenty of scenic hikes to go on and there’s also a river that offers float trips. I would recommend doing one of the float trips on Snake River and also checking out some of the cute restaurants. I recommend the Fizzy Cow (soda and ice cream shop)

- Twin Falls:

Beautiful. Be sure to visit Shoshone Falls. The scenic waterfall will reconnect you with nature. And there is a rich Native American history if you’re looking to dig into your native roots. The area is blessed to the Shoshone tribe. There are lakes and rivers to wade in and plenty of museums and visitor center areas to learn more about the Native history. There is also surprisingly a rich Japanese history. Twin Falls is very close to the area that held Japanese internment camps in World War II. So if you’re a bit of an American history buff, Twin Falls is for you.

- Stanley

Stanley is far more remote than any place I have ever been in my life. And yet there is so much to do! The beautiful Alpine forests provide a scenic back drop. There are hot springs, white water rafting, and bears!!! I’d recommend looking into the white water rafting. I went on my second day in Stanley. There are guides with you and overall it’s just an amazingly fun experience. I’d also make sure you make time for the hot springs they were so amazing.
