—Total cost including shopping is RM6500, much cheaper than I budgeted for! If you’re planning a trip to Japan soon, you might find this helpful.
Costs:

🍋Accommodation: RM1009 [9 nights]
🍋Disneyland: RM248.82
🍋Travel Insurance: RM61
🍋Transportation: RM898
🍋Osaka Amazing Pass [2-day pass]: RM106
🍋eSim 10Gb: RM47.7 [Shopee]
🍋Food and Drinks: RM1400 [I don't eat beef, so I saved some money here]
🍋Entrance Tickets: RM132.2
🍋Locker Fees: RM49
🍋Shopping: RM1150 [this varies by person]
I mostly used cash in Japan, spending about 3000 yen. Most shopping can be done with a credit card, but since many food options are street food, it’s best to have some cash on hand. 💰
‼️ A few tips:
⭐You’ll be walking a lot here, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
⭐Plan your routes first, then decide if you really need to buy a metro pass—buying a pass isn’t always the best deal.
⭐Download Google Maps to check subway routes; it’s super helpful for avoiding wrong trains or getting lost.
⭐Buses are the main mode of transport in Kyoto. If you don’t have a pass or card, you can use cash, but I’m not sure if they can give change.
⭐Japan's sun is intense, so if you’re visiting in the summer, remember to bring a large umbrella and wear sunscreen.
⭐You can fill out the Visit Japan Web form before entering the country to save a lot of time at customs.
⭐Use az.go to book hotels and flight with the referral code 😀 LEMON8 🍋 to get Cashback and save more!
After this trip, I realized that prices in Japan are currently quite reasonable (partly due to the depreciation of the yen). The cost of a meal is about the same as in Malaysian malls, so don’t hesitate to try whatever you want to eat.
No regrets on this trip—money can be earned back later.
