What we planted in March and April 🌱

So many options! Last year we did not start our own seeds. We bought already started plants from the local nursery. They did okay for our first time gardening! But it was expensive.

This year we are testing out heirloom seeds. I’ll admit the first round didn’t make it. 🤦‍♀️ So we are on round two with seedlings and hoping to see a better round.

But even while the ground it now quite ready you can plant so many cold hearty plants! This is something I learned last fall from my parents.

So far we have planted all our Lettuces. We are trying it all this year.

We just planted some beets, onions, beans, snap peas, and baby tomatoes.

I started a Luffa plant for fun to try out also.

Carrots did really well last year just putting them in the ground instead of starting them as seedlings. So we will do that once the ground is thawed.

I planted spring garlic last year after the first frost that did so well. We plan to do that again this next month.

Last year we planted one apple tree and one peach tree. This year we will add two more. We do everything spread out so we save on our gardening budget and just add what we can when we can.
