Closet Organization For Your Nursery or Kids’ Room

This closet was not super useful when my daughter was a baby. It had the classic sliding door so you couldn’t access the whole closet very well, and the single wire shelf a pie was a complete waste of space. I didn’t need a bunch of hanging space for baby clothes, what I needed was space to put a dresser with drawers in this small bedroom.

So when we were setting up our daughter’s nursery, I ended up removing the sliding doors from our closet and finding a dresser that would fit inside the closet opening. This worked out so well, it gave me lots of functional baby clothes, storage in the drawers, and we left the Wire shelving up top so I could still use that for storage and hang a few of the nicer outfits as well. And I tell you what, no need for a changing table. The top of a dresser works great for that and it’s easy to transition when your kid is out of diapers.

Once our daughter was older, we cleared off the diaper changing station and set it up for jewelry storage and hair supplies. This was a major space saver because her bedroom is really small, and I have no regrets over having a dresser in there and doing what works for us.
