The Most Beautiful Lake in Washington

Colchuck Lake is known as the most beautiful lake in Washington and for good reason! It’s an alpine lake located within the Enchantments, about 30 minutes outside of Leavenworth. It’s one of the most challenging hikes I’ve ever done, but is so worth it! Here’s everything you need to know about the hike:

🥾 8.7 miles out and back, hike starts at the Stuart Lake and Colchuck Lake Trail

⛰️ 2,342 ft elevation gain throughout the hike

🥵 Considered a challenging route

🕰️ It takes an average of 4 h 57 min to complete, so I recommend getting there early

💵 There is a parking permit required, it costs $5 and can be purchased on the spot

It’s also a very popular trail and the parking lot gets full by around 9AM, so I recommend getting there around 8AM to start the hike!

Although it’s very difficult, I saw hikers of all levels completing it, but be prepared with proper gear, plenty of water, and many snacks!
