Currently about 16 weeks now (as of 1st October 24)

🤰🏻: 25 & Working

🙋🏻‍♂️: 29 & Working

Married on paper but waiting for BTO to complete and has not hosted the banquet yet and has postponed it bc of the baby🙂‍↕️

We have no plans to have children in next 1-2 years as we are waiting for our bto to complete

Found out I was preggy on 21st July (my period was late by 5 days & usually very zun😅) and tested with a test kit bought from jb 😧 Was double lined and informed the hubby 🤓 Went to the nearest mall together to get the Clearblue Test Kit that indicates how many weeks pregnant (abt $27?) and tested 2-3 weeks pregnant 🤰🏻

Scheduled my first appointment on 31st Jul and we went ahead to go for private instead as it is our first child! Went to Thomson and our gynae is Dr Tan Shu Qi (super chill gynae so far) 🤪

Took our first ultrasound and heard the heartbeat for the first time!!! (Was about 6-7 weeks at that point and we were lucky that we can see the baby and hear the heartbeat) First appt was about $200+ which was okay ~

Next appt was about 4 weeks later and made me anxious a little bit as I have travel plans planned every single week of August. Was extra careful and made sure I ate and sleep well. Baby was super guai as I have not experienced morning sickness at all and only vomited once because I consumed too much liquid at one go. 1st Trimester is really the most vulnerable period as most miscarriages happened at that period and really made me paranoid here and there.

There comes the next appointment on 27th Aug and Dr shared that the baby is growing better than expected even though I travelled quite abit!! (Ultrasound and baby picture are on first page) Was about 11 weeks in and we began more excited as the baby is forming v well ~ Cost was about $400+ which included the antibodies test and prenatal vitamins to start on my 2nd trimester~

Next appointment was on 9th Sept to do the OSCAR test which include drawing of blood and detailed ultrasound scanning, paid about $1000+ as this included all the other major tests before delivery and do rmb to get the FBI / SBI membership from Thomson to get preferred rates for the tests and many more and that was $118 for a 2 year membership.

Got called by the doctor on 11th Sept to talked about my test results (was told that the Dr will not contact me unless necessary), took PM leave for it with my husband and was informed that I have a higher risk of pre-e🥶, was a little scared but higher risk doesnt mean confirm get. Was prescribed Aspirin and Calcium (had some reservations but Dr assured me that there will be minimal side effects on the mother🙏🏻) Bill was about $100+

And last but not least, the latest appointment was yesterday! Was able to identify the baby’s gender and baby is really growing very well ~ his stats were mostly in the 95th and 50th percentile! But but was told that the placenta was a little low so I need to avoid strenuous exercise and intercourse for the period 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ So am stopping my fitness classes for the meantime but will compensate with a little more after dinner strolls ~ Bill was about $200+ for this time!

In summary:

- Spent $2000+ for gynae checkups and test(at 16 weeks) 💸

- Minimal stress and anxiety as baby is growing well 👶🏻 (despite higher risk of pre-e)

Thinking ahead:

- Baby names + Planning of baby arrival 🤔

Decided:

- Not to do gender reveal party 🙅🏻‍♀️

Super lengthy post but I hope this might answer some of the mummies-to-be questions ~
