In August I Re-Discovered My Love Of Reading 📚💕

I’ve always loved reading! Over the past 4-5 years, I became an avid self help and spiritual wellness reader (recs coming soon). Recently, though, I decided that I was ready to pause on self help books and rediscover my love of getting lost in a good story.

I read 12 books in August and these were my faves:

🍁 Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan

4.5 ⭐️’s

Such a sweet read. Loved reading about how the main characters navigated grief and how they found their way back to each other.

🍂 Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen

4 ⭐️’s

Fun read with amazing banter between the main characters.

🍁 This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan

4.5 ⭐️’s

Beautifully written story about finding new love while healing from past hurt and learning to lean deeper into self love.

🍂 The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry

3.75 ⭐️’s

Very twisty, unpredictable story. Very engaging! Male main character wasn’t my favorite but still a really good story.

🍁Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson

4 ⭐️’s

Very heavy story (lots of trigger warnings), but extremely engaging with a wild ending!

🍂 Songs of Irie by Asha Ashanti Bromfield

5 ⭐️’s

My absolute favorite read of August! This book follows two young women who are from different classes navigating their relationship amidst political turmoil in 1976, Jamaica.
