These are just a few places that I like to eat at
here in Hawaii! I'll go in order and share a little bit
about each restaurant/ food business and what I
like to order from each place.
1. Istanbul- this is a mother and daughter owned
restaurant and they are both from turkey. The
food is very authentic and very different which I
love. They have 3 different menus for breakfast,
lunch and dinner. My favorite thing to order from
here is their appetizer platter called the Meze
platter which it contains, humus, muhammara,
water borek, baba ghanoush, peynir & karpuz,
pita.
2. Kahuku farms- this is a small local business
located in Kahuku, O'ahu. This place makes their
food from fresh produce that is grown on a farm
and part of the seating area is literally right on the
farm and you can take a tour of it as well. I usually
like to order their green kale smoothie, pesto
pizza, acai bowl and a lemonade.
3. Two ladies kitchen- this is local business
located in Hilo, hawai'i. They are famously known
for their mochi and it is the best Mochi you'll ever
taste. My favorites are the strawberry shortcake
mochi and the taiyaki.
4. Raised by the waves- this is another locally
owned business located in Kahuku and they are
known for having delicious Gluten free and vegan
foods, desserts and smoothies. My favorite thing
to order is the chuns bahn mi sandwich and their
pounders panini.
5. Waialua bakery- this local business is located
on the north shore of O'ahu. They are known for
their sandwiches, smoothies, desserts, and
affordable prices. Heads up this place only takes
cash! My favorite thing to order is their hunk of
bread with avocado and butter with a chocolate
chip cookie and their tangy sensation smoothie.
My husband likes to get their sandwiches.
6. Pupukea grill- Another small local business
located on the north shore of O'ahu. This food
truck has the best local plate lunches! I love
getting their poke/ Kalua pig bowl with sweet
potatoes and lomi lomi salmon. I also love their
sushi/ poke!
7. Country eatery- this is a cafe known for their
coffee, gluten free and vegan treats, and freshly
pressed juices. But my favorite thing to order and
they are quite known for is their vegan carrot
cake, their frosting is so delicious and has cute
edible flowers to top it off 💐
When you come to Hawaii make sure to shop and
support local!
