what i wish someone told me last year 🤍

1 year of uni js passed so quickly and there are some things I wish I could change but it's a little too late now & no point dwelling on the past so hopefully these pointers can help someone else out :)

1) PLAN UR SCHEDULE 📑

when people say there are endless things to do in uni...it's rly rly ENDLESS !! studying, school events, hall events, cca, clubbing etc. and the list js goes on...which is why it's rly important to plan your schedule out so u hv the bigger picture in mind and feel at ease too. imo the best way to plan my schedule is to have a literal calendar with me & there are plenty of different types of calendars around (e.g. cute, minimalistic) so pick something that works for u; or create ur own using templates from canva/pinterest !!

2) BE THICK SKIN

as an introvert, sometimes it's super draining to talk to >20 strangers in a day esp when sch js started during the ori period but sadly ori is the best time to make friends !!! it's difficult to make close friends in classes because everyone has their own timetable and you'll probably only see them once a week max...

in uni u rly have to be proactive in applying and seeking opportunities (cca, leadership etc.) so if you're considering applying for something, don't hesitate !

3) APPLY FOR INTERNSHIPS EARLY

this isn't for everyone & please do things at ur own pace (don't burn out !!) but ppl apply for internships ~6 months in advance & even up to a year so if you're thinking of doing internships, keep an eye out on the portals.

4) HAVE FUN

GPA is important but having fun is important too !! the truth is uni is a super good time to have fun (staying in hall away from strict parents) & most imptly when else do u not hv to worry about working a FT job...
