Finally, an easy, delicious, refined sugar-free recipe for chocolate chip cookies!

Sourdough discard recipes are my favorite as I definitely make more with the discard than I do with the actual starter馃槄

These are a family favorite - they are so soft and taste almost the same as regular chocolate chip cookies!

Recipe馃憞馃徎

Ingredients

(Wet)

12 Tbsp salted butter

1/2 cup sourdough starter discard

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

(Dry)

1 1/3 cup all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 1/2 dark chocolate chips (or any of choice)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two baking sheets with a silicone mat or parchment paper.

2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, or large mixing bowl, add all wet ingredients and combine with electric mixer for about two minutes.

3. Add dry ingredients, except chocolate chips, to mixture and combine with electric mixer for another two minutes.

4. Gradually add in chocolate chips until just combined. No need to overdo it here!

5. Use a medium cookie dough scoop dish onto baking sheets. *I made 24 cookies, but this will depend on the size of each cookie.

6. Bake cookies in preheated oven until edges are golden brown (12-15 minutes). Remove from oven once done and let cool for 10 minutes before removing.

7. Store the cookies in an airtight container in counter or refrigerator for up to a week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
