Is Flying First Class Worth It?

For an $89.00 upgrade on Delta, I decided to fly first class from Atlanta to Guatemala City. This was my first time flying first class and I had no idea what to expect.

Here are some things I liked:

I loved that the flight attendants called me by name and had more time to chat and get to know me on the flight. I like to talk, so that was a nice change from normal economy.

It was nice being served a full meal. My flight was at a weird time that overlapped the lunch hour and I liked knowing that I didn’t have to figure out what to eat before or after I landed.

I loved having more room on the flight. I was able to comfortably spread out and take a little nap.

Now, do I think it was worth it? Not exactly. If I was on a tighter budget I would have kept the money to use on an experience when I landed in Guatemala, but since I had never flown first class before, I wanted to get that experience.

I do think it would be worth it if it was a longer flight of over 5 hours.
